Pizza dough recipe

As a person with Italian heritage, pizza is of course one of my favourites.

This pizza dough is not only good for pizza. I will refer to it in many recipes that need a pizza-like dough.

This pizza dough is naturally vegan.

Pizza dough made easy

This vegan recipe for pizza dough is from the Miconi family recipe collection, handed over from my younger brother Ilja. It is good for pizza and other pizza-like dishes like French tarte flambée or Turkish pide.

Ingredients

  • 700 grams wheat flour (I prefer wholegrain spelled flour)
  • 10 grams fresh yeast
  • 0,5 liters of lukewarm water
  • 4 coffee spoons salt
  • 1 pinch sugar
  • 2 table spoons olive oil

Instructions

It's very helpful to prepare the pizza dough in a KitchenAid.

  • Put the flour into the bowl of the KitchenAid.
  • Take almost a cup of the lukewarm water and mix the yeast and the sugar separately, before you pour it over the flour.
  • Add the salt and the oil.
  • Now mix everything well in the KitchenAid.
  • Add some of the water, until the dough does not stick to the wall of the bowl anymore.
  • Take the bowl from the KitchenAid, cover it with a towl and put it aside to sit for 8 hours.
  • Roll the pizza dough out on a big tray the way you need it. Do not take all at once. You may add or take away to get the right amount you need.
  • Now the dough is ready to become a pizza, or whatsoever you want.

This recipe is good for 1 large tray of pizza. Enjoy!
